Biloxi Blueberry

Biloxi is a southern highbush variety released by the USDA in Mississippi in 1998. It has an exceptionally low chill requirement, around 150 to 200 hours, making it a genuine "gold standard" choice for growers in the Deep South and other very mild-winter, low-chill climates where most other blueberry varieties fail to leaf out or fruit properly. It is a very early bloomer, often flowering in late February or early March, with fruit typically maturing by May or June — among the earliest blueberries to reach market each season. It is partially self-fertile but produces best with a cross-pollinating partner such as Emerald or Jewel.
