Convis originates from the collection of Corwin Davis, the Michigan breeder (Bellevue/Eaton Rapids area) also documented in this database as the source of Davis, Prolific, Sunflower, and IXL, among others — a genuinely significant historic clone from one of the most prolific individual pawpaw collectors of the mid-20th century. In reference lists and Kentucky State University publications, Convis is documented as a verified clone from that Davis material. The fruit is small to medium, yellow-pulped with a creamy, custard-like texture and sweet tropical flavor, and ripens relatively late — the first week of October in Michigan.
