Davis was developed and named by Michigan breeder Corwin Davis of Belleview, who also introduced the Prolific and Sunflower varieties, all selected for good performance in the cooler Great Lakes climate. The fruit is on the small side with yellow flesh, green skin, and notably large seeds, but good flavor.
