Kent Mango

Kent originated in Florida in the 1940s as a chance seedling and later became a major commercial variety grown extensively in Mexico, Peru, and Ecuador for export to North America, valued specifically for a smooth, fiberless texture that made it well suited to the kind of large-scale international shipping the global mango trade increasingly depended on through the late 20th century.
