Lang Jujube

Lang, like Li also documented in this database, traces to Frank Meyer's real 1908 USDA-sponsored jujube collecting expedition to China, formally catalogued under USDA Plant Introduction number 22686. It became one of the two dominant commercial jujube cultivars grown in the United States, with large, pear-shaped fruit especially well suited to drying, though the fruit can split if rain falls during the maturity window.
