Pawpaws
Prolific Pawpaw
✓ VerifiedUnited States
Prolific was developed by Corwin Davis, the Michigan breeder from Belleview who also introduced the Davis and Sunflower varieties, all particularly well suited to the cooler Great Lakes growing region. It is genuinely known as an early-bearing selection, meaning grafted trees tend to reach fruiting age sooner than many other cultivars, with large fruit and excellent flavor.

Care info
True to its name, a heavy producer, though flavor opinions are more mixed than the yield numbers suggest.

Grow primarily for yield rather than top-tier flavor — pair with a flavor-focused variety like Susquehanna for the best of both.
