Triumph was selected in New Zealand from seedlings of the historic Coolidge-lineage Choiceana variety, part of the same breeding tradition that also produced Mammoth. The fruit is short, oval, and plump rather than pointed like Coolidge, with uneven but firm skin, somewhat gritty flesh, and a genuinely good seed-to-pulp ratio with excellent sharp flavor. It ripens late season, is documented by the New Zealand Feijoa Growers Association as a good, reliable storer, and the tree itself is upright and of medium vigor.
